Susan Zavell, R.N., B.S.N, L.E.

Licensed Registered Nurse and Esthetician

Susan Zavell graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Texas Woman's University in Houston, Texas in 1992. She was employed as a Woman's Health nurse for many years, specializing in Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, and Gynecology. In 2003 she attended esthetics school at Esthetics International under the direction of Don Kerr, in Columbia, South Carolina.

She attends laser medicine educational conferences at least twice each year and is committed to continuing education and professionalism in the field. After taking both a written and oral examination, she is now a Diplomat of the American Board of Laser Surgery. She is one of 12 Registered Nurses in the United States to complete this certification process.

Other professional memberships include: the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), the Society of Dermatology Skincare Specialists, Dermatology Nurse's Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She is also an associate member of the International Society of Laser and Cosmetic Surgeons.

In the summer of 2004, Candela Corporation named Heavenly Skin an official Physician center for training, where doctors and their staff members frequently visit to receive additional training and suggestions in the "how-to's" of operating a laser center.

Susan's work and experience has been noted in many different publications including a clinical paper for Candela Corporation which is being used for world-wide marketing for Candela lasers. Her Skin Tightening photos were featured in the European Edition of Aesthetic Buyers Guide in Autumn 2005. She was featured in the September/October article "Out of the Red" in Renew Magazine. The January 12, 2005 issue* of the New York Times featured one of her patients, Tonya Carter, in an article titled "Light and Heat as Alternatives to Drugs" about laser treatment of acne.

*On January 26th, 2005, The New York Times printed a correction regarding giving Tonya Cater's dermatologist misplaced credit for clearing her skin.
